Earlier this autumn a group of German teachers visited municipalities of Vågå and Lom in order to meet their Norwegian partners in a two year teaching project called Comenius Regio. A new exciting exhibition called "Out of the Ice" opens at the Norwegian Mountain Museum in Lom on Saturday, 28.mai 2011. The original artefacts over 1500 years old which melt out of the ice as a result of climate change, will be exposed to a broad audience. (24.05.11)
Youth organizations from eight European countries participated in a seminar in Tønsberg (Norway) April 11 - 15. The main theme was “Make you voice heard” and the seminar was arranged by Youth in Action. (29.04.11)
Youth Climate Camp was held for the second time. There were 30 young people from Norway, Poland, Great Britain and Palestine who gathered at Sygard Seter mountain farm in Lom to talk about climate change, to meet Norwegian scientists and politicians, and also to participate in many varied and exciting activities. Young people from four nations are ready to discuss the world’s climate challenges at the climate camp in Jotunheimen. The camp is organized by Young Friends of the Earth and the Youth County Council in Oppland, in cooperation with the Norwegian Mountain Museum and the project Climate Park 2469. Klimacamp 2010 is now under planning. We are arranging this camp for the second time this summer. Youth from both Norway, Poland and other countries will be able to participate in the camp.

The international environmentalist organisation "Nature and Youth" was strongly engaged in Klimacamp 2009 where young people from Norway, Poland and Canada were gathered in four days. It was a part of work with Klimapark 2469 and a democracy project under the programme "Youth in action".

"Nature and Youth", Oppland County Municipality and Municipal Youth Council got 428 182 kroners from the EU's youth programme. The money will be used for a democracy project where youth from Norway and Poland participate in the development of world's first climate park - Klimapark 2469 - in Jotunheimen. (06.07.09)
