Klimapark2469 has today applied for a membership in the Foundation Norwegian Heritage.

The Norwegian Mountain Museum administers the Klimapark2469. The Museum houses several companies and organisations within tourism, mountains and nature management.
- An essential part of our job is to create values based on our rich nature and culture heritage, says Mai Bakken, Museum's Director. She recommends all organisations involved in the topic to apply for the membership.
Klimapark2469 (Climate Park 2469) is a unique arena for dissemination, scientific research and value generation connected to climate change, cultural heritage and alpine nature in a long term perspective. This is a fantastic venue for learning and excitement located on Juv plateau in Jotunheimen. In the Klimapark2469 one can also visit a spectacular ice tunnel. There are thrilling new exhibitions at the Norwegian Mountain Museum in the National Park Village of Lom.
- We are happy to have accepted both the Norwegian Mountain Museum and Klimapark 2469 as our new members, says Simen Bjørgen, Director of the Foundation Norwegian Heritage. He points out that there is an unbreakable connection between nature and culture qualities in the future development of the Foundation.

Norsk Kulturarv (The Foundation Norwegian Heritage) was founded in 1993. Almost thirty co-founders has signed up since then - among them public authorities such as counties and municipalities as well as representatives from trade and industry. The idealistic purpose of the foundation Norwegian Heritage is to preserve cultural heritage. In practice this means preserving history by help of historical vitality. For its logo Norwegian Heritage has chosen the St. Olav's Rose, an ancient magical symbol for protection and the keeping of a secret.It is the Foundation's task to see to it that the historic environment of Norway is properly cared for. The strategy in this matter is to create trade value from the cultural values – to maintain them for the present and the future. The Foundation provides for- guidance about matters related to the purpose - projects of practical enterprises in cooperation with private and public interests- tourism attached to a wide range of cultural monuments All these purposes may be defined within the Foundation's motto, “Preservation through utilisation" meaning to aim at preservation of the past - for the future – by means of a living present.
