Youth organizations from eight European countries participated in a seminar in Tønsberg (Norway) April 11 - 15. The main theme was “Make you voice heard” and the seminar was arranged by Youth in Action.
Youth in Action is the programme the European Union has set up for young people. It aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future.
The purpose of the seminar in Tønsberg was to develop youth democracy projects. Young people from several European countries met here to learn about techniques of planning youth projects, writing applications and search for partners.
Klimapark 2469 has had a successful cooperation with Youth in Action since 2009 in connection with the Youth Climate Camps arranged both in 2009 and 2010. In fact, the climate camp concept has worked out so well that several youth organizations use it as an example. That’s why the Youth in Action programme invited a representative from the Klimapark-project to participate in the seminar in Tønsberg.
It is an honour for the Klimapark to share its achievements with others and a brilliant opportunity to tell them about the project. Nataliya Holovan went to the seminar, presented the Klimapark-project and on behalf of her colleagues told the audience about experience from youth climate camps. She met enthusiastic young people from Germany, Luxembourg and Turkey and participated in discussions of their plans for future democracy projects.
