A delegation from Otjozondjupa region in Namibia recently visited Oppland, and the two regions continued the discussions about cooperation areas that were initiated last year. At the end of the visit a cooperation agreement was signed. The two regions will exchange experiences within various fields: Education and culture, regional planning, agriculture, public health and planning.
During three days in Oppland the visitors from Otjozondjupa were introduced to several of Oppland county authority's responsibility areas and ongoing projects, like the climate park project. The delegation visited Lillehammer and Gjøvik, as well as mountain areas in Valdres.
The delegation from Otjozondjupa consisted of Ferdinand F. Kavetuna, Governor, Othniel Kazombiaze, Acting Chief Regional Officer, and Welma Guriras, Chief Development Planner.
During their stay in Norway they also participated at the celebration of NAMAS' 30th anniversary (Namibia Association of Norway).
